And while I’m on the subject
… this is a great video deconstructing one of shadow’s classics from ‘endtroducing’.
new (old) dj shadow
Thanks to Dr Nick for putting me onto this series of 30 second previews from dj shadow’s ‘new’ album (a collection of recordings from 1992-1996). Sounds awesome … though unfortunately better than anything he’s released for the last 15 years.

Playing in Melbourne in October.
Ni hao wo de pengyou!
Isak has been loving the nursery rhymes available on the Raising Children Network … he sings and dances and shouts whenever we play them.
One of the songs is called ‘Bonjour Mes Amis’ and involves a girl riding through various countries singing ‘hello’ to local people. The shot above is from the Chinese part of the song. It always makes us laugh as: (i) the pronunciation is way off and funny; (ii) the ‘ni hao wo’ part of the sentence makes no sense (‘hello me’?!); and (iii) in the background there is Mt Fuji, cherry blossom and a geisha! … ‘Ni hao wo de pengyou, ni hao wo’ … can’t get it out of my head!! 🙂
